silas and megan time

i love the way silas looks at meg. they had so much fun playing twister, monopoly and pokemon but what i really think he appreciates is the way meg gives him her full attention.
he eats it up and his face shines. xoxoxxo

it's been a while

and lots has happened and this is only a fraction of a teeny representation of all of it....i am missing all the times with silas practicing his diablo (coming soon) and there have been so many events! here's just a snippet. really only the times i had my camera!  xoxox

Easter

the best easter yet thanks to a water balloon pump from the easter bunny and a game emmett and silas invented called trashketball.
the food was great and springy and feasty and somewhat impromptu so it was stressfree.
mellow and lovely.
wish you were here!!! (next spring?!)

a hike to remember

i will remember it because this place is completely beautiful! truly!
the kids will remember it as the longest most miserable hike in history. 7 miles from hell.
pure torture.
i wonder if i will ever be able to convince them to try it again?

the canaries at the house of blues

A great show! (The videos are out of order but you get the idea.)

this last one was a surprise...the house of blues MC asked them to play one more...they pulled this one outta their hat...

Academy Awards 2013

...and Silas can't stop singing "saw your boobs!"

can you believe this is the same place?

2009...all new and fresh and manageable...

2013... we've gotten a little wild and wooly, obviously...

this boy can move!

sunday mornings around here are fantastic. you never know what's going to happen. today it was reading by the fire, a great pokemon binder flip-through AND a whole hour of silas dancing...

(above the short version with embarrassing mom sounds and below the long cut with some
silas slo-mo)

the canaries are in session

Yesterday I finally got the chance to hang out in the studio with Emmett and Zane. It was such a great experience! This was the end of day 2 and they both were still completely focused, enthusiastic and excited to get the chance to do this.
And they made some excellent music! Next will be vocals in a week or so.

emmett thinks this looks like a "cheesy 80's album cover"

super cool studio

channeling the powers of ROCK!

(no matter how cool they get...they remain awesomely goofy)

happy birthday to our 12 year old boy!!!!

Emmett, you are 12 and quite a kid. We love your wide range of interests and passions all carried by your empathy and kindness. happy day to you full of love! xo

YES!, under that stack of Unshelved "What Would Dewey Do" comics, inside the *intellectual freedom fighter* mail bag, wrapped in magic card boxes...his very own cell phone! we had to call him 3 times before he realized it was HIS phone that was ringing.
